Reporting to the HR Business Partner, you will play a key role in supporting all areas of the HR function, gaining valuable exposure across the full range of core HR activities. As a trusted member of the team, you’ll help ensure the HR Department is recognised across the business for its reliability, expertise, forward-thinking approach, and high-quality service.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Recruitment & Induction
To support the HR department to deliver any recruitment and induction in line with the business needs, including – screening and interviewing candidates, induction delivery, ensuring best in class customer service for all new Walker’s employees. Support all aspects of onboarding Agency employees, including Agency inductions.
Absence Management
Reviewing long term sick reports, working alongside Occupational Health and Managers as part of capability meetings.
Review monthly absence reports and circulate with all line Managers, ensuring appropriate processes are adhered to in a consistent and professional manner.
Employee Relations
Handle incoming employee queries or concerns and advising accordingly on the appropriate next steps. To conduct investigations, supporting Managers as required on employee related meetings, such as grievances, performance reviews, absences reviews etc. ensuring legal and Company compliance is adhered to.
Policy
Support the development of any new and existing policies and procedures to ensure ethical and legal compliance.
To conduct audits on site canteens in line with the business needs.
To escalate concerns immediately, providing comprehensive audit reports confirming findings and any further actions recommended.
Training
To support the delivery and facilitation across the business of all annual/ad-hoc training, including online and classroom-based courses, as and when required.
Management information
Compile and communicate monthly reports which includes turnover, absence, long term sick and recruitment information.
Ethical
Support the department in ensuring correct data, policies, procedures, and accurate employee records are held in line with legal and customer requirements. Support in providing evidence of compliance during Ethical audits.
To ensure the HR Department is well networked with other businesses and service providers to ensure we become an employer of choice in the area.
Support and contribute to ongoing HR projects in line with HR objectives.

Qualifications & Experience
Essential
HR or similar administrative based Apprenticeship / Certificate in People Practice
HR experience up to a similar level in a Manufacturing business
Desirable
Currently studying or has a desire to achieve CIPD accreditation or similar
Knowledge
Microsoft Package – Excel, Word, PowerPoint
Online HR System
