Apprenticeships with Walkers

Focused on supporting individuals towards achieving their career goals through apprenticeship opportunities.

“The Apprenticeship was a fantastic stepping stone for me into a workplace environment. The skills and knowledge gained from the Apprenticeship allowed me to progress my career in Finance. I am now a Trainee Accountant, currently studying to be fully qualified.”

Faye, Finance Apprentice

"I first started at Walker’s as a Seasonal Packing Operative in one of our Aberlour factories where my work ethic was recognised by the Factory Manager. I was kept on at the end of the season and given the opportunity of work experience in our Maintenance and Engineers department. I found what I wanted to do and I’ve never looked back. I recently completed my Modern Apprenticeship and have sights on gaining a HNC in Engineering Systems"

Charlie, Engineering Apprentice

"I started at Walker’s when I left school at 17. I knew I did not want to go to University and when I saw the notice on the school board I applied to be an apprentice electrician in the Engineering Department. My apprenticeship consisted of maintaining all machinery while being responsible to fix breakdowns on production lines. During my second year, I was awarded the Scottish Silver Medal for best 2nd year apprentice in Scotland.”"

Graham, Electrical Apprentice

"I have been with Walkers for 5 months now and it's been the best experience, I have gained new skills and tried new things from interviews, inductions and career fairs. I truly believe I have found what I want to do with my working career."

Caitlyn, HR Apprentice

"Liam has recently been awarded Best Practical Stage 1 Electrical Apprentice award, and as a result of the effort he put into his work and studies, he was chosen to compete in the World Skills Electrical Renewable Energy National Qualifier held in Doncaster where he achieved 2nd place. Liam will progress on to compete in the UK final in Manchester with hopes to make the UK team heading to Shanghai, China for the World Skills final. Liam is a credit to himself and to Walker’s."

Liam, Engineering Apprentice

“Walker’s has given me a great opportunity as I have always found it very difficult to further my career with full-time work and college but with the programme I can do both. Walker’s apprenticeship workshops have been great in helping us apprentices within the business to connect, learn and help each other out in a fun and thriving environment.”

Paige, Reception Apprentice

"I have found the apprentice workshops helpful, they are interesting and they have helped me a lot with communication. In one workshop, we learned about what type of learner we are. I found it interesting I was an auditory learner and a hands-on learner."

Bobby, Engineering Apprentice

"I couldn't of asked for a better experience with the Walker's apprenticeship program. The amazing organisers have been nothing but welcoming and helpful. The workshops that they have put together have been interesting, interactive and have been great opportunities to meet the other apprentices. Everyone manages to engage appropriately, whilst also having a laugh and keeping it somewhat casual.”

Martha, Finance Apprentice
